Our history
The first Baptist church was founded in Wotton in 1717 and was built on a site close to the old grammar school. This was demolished when school extensions were required and new buildings were erected in Rope Walk. The church has met in these buildings since 1818.
The reburbishment of the main 'chapel' was completed in February 2009 to a very high standard including under floor heating and new comfortable seating. The balcony has been retained in its original form with wooden pew seating.
